  5. CET BASIC is a modern application language developed for commercial business
  6. and scientific applications. It was developed to take advantage of the new 16-
  7. and 32-bit microprocessors. The language is upward compatible with OASIS,
  8. THEOS, and UX-BASIC. CET BASIC programs may be intermixed with programs and
  9. subroutines written in other languages. It provides a full complement of
  10. structuring contructs. CET BASIC supports industry-standard C-ISAM indexed
  11. files, plus sequential and direct access methods with stream or record
  12. orientation. Over 100 built-in functions for mathmatical and string handling
  13. operations are provided. Additional features include error-trapping, foreign
  14. language support, program chaining, UNIX/XENIX spooler support, and
  15. syntax-checking editor. Implementations of CET BASIC are available for
  16. Intel-based UNIX/XENIX and DOS systems.
